The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. Tudhope, rider of Toyotomi (FR), trained by David O'Meara (in GB), reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was denied a clear run.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Dmaniac (GB), trained by Martin Hassett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not get a clear run.

B.M. Coen, rider of Sapphire Sun, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very keen early on.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of September Duke (GB), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around a bit under pressure.

S. Foley, rider of Switching Sides, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Atlantic Bridge, trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left off the bridle.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales that B.M. Coen, rider of Sapphire Sun, had weighed in 1.4lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had been very keen to post and he had a drink of water when he got to the start. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that B. M. Coen was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned B. M. Coen on this occasion.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Fine Line, placed second, as compared with its recent form. Denis Gerard Hogan stated that an ease in the ground today coupled with a good ride had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fine Line, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Night Raider, trained by K.R.Burke (in GB), at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Partisan Hero, ridden by S. De Sousa, and Mission Central, ridden by R.L. Moore, where it appeared Mission Central had to check slightly. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. De Sousa stated that his race was run and his mount drifted around but he corrected when he heard a shout. R. L. Moore stated that he had to take a minor check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found S. De Sousa was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended S. De Sousa for two race days.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Jakajaro, ridden by J.P. Spencer, Rumstar (GB), ridden by R. Hornby, and Argentine Tango (GB), ridden by D. Allan where it appeared Argentine Tango had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. P. Spencer stated that his mount went marginally left and he heard a shout. He added that at the time he felt he was clear but in hindsight accepted that he was not. R. Hornby stated that he received slight contact as he was coming through. D. Allen stated that he was tightened up when the horse on his right drifted in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. P. Spencer was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended J. P. Spencer for two race days.

R.L. Moore, rider of Mission Central, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran out of room about a furlong out.

The Raceday Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 13, granted a request from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Folsom Blues, for a lead horse to accompany his charge to the start of this race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Giant Sequoia (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Porto Vecchio, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was restless in the gate.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Michael Halford, Authorised Representative for J. P. O'Brien, trainer of Folsom Blues and Monogram (GB), in relation to their charges late arrival to post which contributed to a delay to the off time of this race. Evidence was heard from J. M. Sheridan, rider of Folsom Blues, C. T. Keane, rider of Monogram and Michael Halford. J. M. Sheridan stated that they felt they were on time and when the Starter gestured to them to trot on they did so. C. T. Keane stated that the two horses were getting very edgy and they pulled up to a walk. Michael Halford stated that they had requested permission to use a lead horse and they had done everything correctly. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanations given and took no further action other than to remind the trainer, through his representative, and the riders of their responsibilities under Rule 205.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed W.M. Lordan, rider of Queenstown, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found W. M. Lordan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.e (using the whip other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended W. M. Lordan for two racedays.
